航空路監視レーダー (ARSR ／ air route surveillance radar) お よ び 洋 上 航 空 路 監 視 レ ー ダ ー (ORSR ／ oceanic route surveillance radar) は､ エンルートの管制を行うための長距 離レーダーで､ 半径 250 マイルの空域を二次レーダー (SSR) のみでカバーしており、大部分はモード S 対応になってい る。 日本では図 1-1 のように､ 21 のレーダーサイトが運 用されており､ 実質的に日本全土を網羅している｡
126. ＡＲＳＲ ／ ＯＲＳＲ
Long range radars of ARSR (Air Route Surveillance Radar) and ORSR (Oceanic Route Surveillance Radar) are utilized for the en route air traffic control service with coverage of 250nm radius respectively.
In ARSR with the extended coverage, PSR is not operated, but only SSR portion covers 250 nm radius of the site. Additionally, most sites are equipped with Mode S function. The ORSR is operated solely with SSR equipment of 250nm coverage. 21 en route radar sites are in operation nationwide as indicated in the table 1-2 and virtually, all the Japanese skies are covered by these ARSRs.
